Brought my dog in for vomiting most likely due to something she ate in the yard. However there was a lot of vomit so I wanted to make sure she was ok. I dropped her off, and they went over how they were going to do her lab work (I paid for blood work).

A few hours later I received a call saying she was about ready, and they wanted to give her some anti vomit medicine. They were more then aware the vomiting had happened more then 24 hours ago, And HAS NOT HAPPENED AT ALL SINCE.

I asked to speak to the vet, I also had a bone to pick about what's on the paperwork.

They charge for a full exam as well as the specific tests they do.

Not a problem, a full exam for your pet is good right? So when the vet came out I asked. "Ok well it says here you do a full exam," "yes we do it for all the dogs."

Ok cool, "then tell me what did you think of the lumps she has," (she as two large lumps on her chest).
The vet had the nerve to actually kneel down and feel around on her (AFTER I HAD ALREADY PICKED HER UP AND PAID. This is at the front desk, not in an exam room..

"Oh, yeah I noticed those, I'm sure they are fine."

Excuse me? Nothing on the paperwork says ANYTHING about lumps, she literally bent down to feel for then we'll after when the exam should've happened.

Here's my point, this place deals with our loved family members. My dogs are my everything, they mean more to me then any person that exists in my life. There are alot of families that feel the same way, I noticed my dogs lumps awhile ago, and I have a vet friend who can check her up (in non emergency situations) so I was familiar with the fat collection lumps.

However other families night not spend as much time getting and playing with their dogs, how are they suppose to know their pet MAY have a cancerous lump or not if the VET DOESNT EVEN LOOK.

In other words this Vet (Bennet I think her name was) didn't even do a full exam, she half arsed it. She only did what the patients owner concern is. That's great and all, but unlike when we go to the doctor and we can say, hey doc I have a lump under my skin that doesn't belong...

Our animals can't do that, they rely on vets to give us fully detailed reports so they can stay healthy.

This dumb vet didn't do that, and I informed her of her failure to aide pet owners. She didn't seem to care much. The last part was the medicine they tried to sell me.

As last noted, my dog didn't have any symptoms, yet this vet wanted me to give her anti vomit medicine.

When's the last time you went to a doctor's office and said, hey doc I was sick really bad. Then the doctor hands you medicine for something you are no longer even ill with? They don't, they don't want to mask any symptoms if it happens again, because they need to figure out what's wrong. They also don't give medicine to people who don't need it because it's not good to just pump medicine into your body for no reason, apparently this Vet missed that memo.

So that's my long rant about the craptacular job this "animal hospital" did. I highly recommend finding a different vets office. Or who knows, maybe that specific vet will read this review and realize how serious it would be if their pet died due to negligence of another vet.

Then maybe she'll start carig for other people's animals like the family members they are.

If this was a serious problem and my dog ended up terminally ill, but misdiagnosed as fine the vet would have something much more serious then a review to deal with.

The Oswego Banfield has ALWAYS given my pet the best care! The staff is sweet, accommodating, and understanding to a new pet owner. I tried another Banfield in Downers Grove and had a terrible experience, but Oswego is a night and day difference. I will make the drive to ensure my pet is cared for properly and safetly. Thank you Oswego Banfield Staff!
